but how many of you plan to use that brew to\u00a0enhance the flavors of your meal?\u00a0 From glazing to basting to marinating &#8211;\u00a0a little beer goes a long way to liven up your BBQ.\u00a0\u00a0The simplest approach to cooking with beer would probably have to include the hot dog.\u00a0 I like to get a rich, flavorful <a title=\"Stout Definition\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stout\" target=\"_blank\">Stout<\/a> and marinate brats in it for an hour or so, and then throw them on the grill.\u00a0 Brats don&#8217;t\u00a0generally absorb a lot of the beer while marinating, so I also use a <a title=\"Flavor Injector\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Oster-53061-Branded-Flavor-Injector\/dp\/B002TOKH3A\/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&amp;s=home-garden&amp;qid=1278184574&amp;sr=8-6\" target=\"_blank\">flavor injector<\/a> to inject the Stout into the dogs as they cook.\u00a0 This keeps them moist for the entire duration they are cooking and the result is a deliciously juicy\u00a0beer brat with a hint of stout flavor.\u00a0 Yum.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Are\u00a0 brats a little too elementary for you?\u00a0 There are lots of other great recipes to choose from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"BBQ Cowboy Steak\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebeerstore.ca\/lifestyle-recipes-beef-cowboysteak.html\" target=\"_blank\">Beer BBQ Cowboy Steak<\/a>: To some, steak is king of the BBQ.\u00a0 Crown your king with a splash of beer.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crapmonkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/beer_Cooking.jpg\"><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Beer with Hoison Sauce\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebeerstore.ca\/lifestyle-recipes-beef-hoison.html\" target=\"_blank\">Burgers with Hoison-Stout Sauce<\/a>:\u00a0<a title=\"Hoison\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hoisin_sauce\" target=\"_blank\">Hoison<\/a> is a Chinese dipping sauce &#8211; add a little Stout to the mix, and you&#8217;ve got a winning recipe.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crapmonkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/beer_Cooking1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-577\" title=\"beer_Cooking\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crapmonkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/beer_Cooking1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"307\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Beer Can Chicken\" href=\"http:\/\/homecooking.about.com\/od\/chickenrecipes\/r\/blpoul63.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Beer-Can Chicken<\/a>: Cooking a chicken over a partially filled beer can keeps the meat amazingly moist and tender.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve actually done this with a Turkey (and a large can of <a title=\"Foster's Beer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fostersbeer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Foster&#8217;s Beer<\/a>) for Thanksgiving and the results were mouth watering.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Beer Portobello\" href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-6071-Chicago-Beer-Pairing-Examiner~y2009m6d24-Beermarinated-grilled-portobello-mushroom-sandwich-recipe\" target=\"_blank\">Beer Marinated Portobello Mushrooms<\/a>: If you have vegetarians in the household (as I do), this might be a great option for you (and it\u00a0uses blonde ale, rather than the darker beers recommended in many of the other recipes referenced here).<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Stout Chili\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebeerstore.ca\/lifestyle-recipes-beef-stoutchili.html\" target=\"_blank\">Stoute Chili<\/a>: What&#8217;s a BBQ without a little Chili?\u00a0 This one&#8217;s meaty, but I&#8217;m sure the clever cook could sub the beef for veggie grounds or Seitan.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Beer-BQ Suace\" href=\"http:\/\/www.beercook.com\/details.htm?record_id=3c93c03417e1233b_71649\" target=\"_blank\">Beer-BQ Sauce<\/a>: Have your own traditional 4th of July BBQ recipe?\u00a0 Then maybe you just need to make a little Beer-BQ sauce to introduce into the mix.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lots of us will be Barbequing with a beer in hand on the fourth of July &#8211;
